RESEARCH THEME 01 / DOCTORAL WORK

Wireless sensor networks.

Queries become graphs of operators. The system decides how to distribute that work across battery-powered sensor nodes.

The approach

Wireless sensor networks collect data across many small devices. Sending every reading to a central machine can be expensive in both communication and energy. Curracurrong expresses applications as streams so that some processing can happen inside the network.

The programming environment combines an extensible operator library with placement algorithms. The related operator-migration study explores how placement can adapt when queries and network conditions change.
