ABOUT VASVI

A researcher's perspective.

Software engineering, informed by a background in programming languages and distributed systems.

From research to practice.

Vasvi Kakkad is a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft, based in Sydney. Her career spans software engineering and engineering management, with earlier roles at Atlassian, Oracle Labs, IBM, and the University of Sydney.

Her doctoral research at the University of Sydney investigated stream processing in distributed environments. The Curracurrong work connects a high-level way of describing computations with the challenges of deciding where they run, how much energy they use, and how long their results take to arrive.

Her published research covers wireless sensor networks, cloud stream processing, operator placement, and end-to-end query delays.
